BOB'S BURGERS 'WIN AT PARENTING' PROMO

In a fun, new promo for “Bob’s Burgers,” the comedy’s on the wall… literally. 2C Creative was commissioned by Twentieth Television to develop and produce the spot, which shines a comedic light on parenting in classic Bob & Linda style. The clever concept brings a wall of Belcher family portraits to life, with each one transporting viewers into a different “parenting win” scene from the edgy animated series.

For us, having collaborated with Twentieth Television on numerous “Bob’s Burgers” promos since the series entered syndication in 2015, the goal was to find a fresh, new way to feature the show’s clips in funny highlights that would generate weekend viewing. We researched by watching many hours of episodes, laughing until our guts hurt and then honing in on just the right balance of cast members and messaging.

In creating her concept, 2C Creative Director Cheryl King was actually inspired by the living hall of portraits in the Harry Potter films. Introducing this to a “Bob’s Burgers” promo meant our designer had to animate the wall scene with a look that fit perfectly into the Belcher home, with no discernable difference between the show clips and 2C’s created space. Instead, it’s as if viewers are standing in front of the Belcher’s family photos, where the characters’ eyes blink and look around as they’re taken in and out of each portrait, activating the different scenes. This set-up also allowed for a more dynamic campaign, as we could easily add different scenes into the portraits for each cut down.
